Duncan Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. in accordance with A-25, Mobile Home and RV Park Policy, will refuse service to all new construction or expansion of existing permanent residential mobile home parks unless each residence is individually metered, and master metering is discontinued.
Master metering is a meter for measuring or recording the flow of electricity that has passed through it at a single location where said electricity is distributed to tenants or occupants for their individual usage. Any location where two or more permanent residential mobile homes are metered together and not individually metered will be considered master metered.
This policy supplements and conforms to the rules for Duncan Valley Electric Cooperative (DVEC) serviced Mobile Home Parks – New Construction/Expansion (Mobile Home Parks, Section 149) as set forth in the Duncan Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. Rules and Regulations, on file with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) and is consistent with Arizona Administrative Code Section R14-2-205, Master Metering, which requires individual metering of permanent residential mobile home spaces.
Permanent residential mobile homes include all mobile or transportable type residences or structures, including manufactured housing or recreational vehicles, where, in the opinion of DVEC, the average length of stay for an occupant is a minimum of six months.
Mobile Home and RV Parks within DVEC service area that were master metered prior to Arizona Administrative Code Section R14-2-205 are encouraged to call the DVEC office to schedule a FREE Power Quality Audit. The DVEC crew will test the equipment on our side of the meter to ensure it is able to continue safely providing the power required for the ever increasing electrical needs of tenant Mobile and RV homes. In the event the master meter system located within the park is deemed insufficient for the power needs of the tenants, the park will be required to discontinue master metering and allow DVEC to individually meter each space.
This allows the cooperative to adequately measure the usage of each tenant, supply the equipment on our side of the meter and provide the electricity required to afford the energy reliability our membership expects.
Please call the DVEC office at 928-359-2503 with any questions or to schedule your free Power Quality Audit.
